12 Hidden Gem PS4/Xbox One Games You Must Play

11. Resident Evil: Revelations 2

Usually a Resident Evil game wouldn't be referred to as a 'hidden gem', but when the franchise hasn't had a downright brilliant entry in years, chances are your average gamer looks to it as nothing more than another half-baked shooter - especially when it's delivered in an episodic format. However, in a rarity that's very much worth celebrating, RE: R 2 is actually incredibly good value for money - the whole first episode lasts a good number of hours, and with some solid shooting primarily based on Resi 5's model (without the whizz-bang slides and half-baked freneticism of 6) actually just playing a Resi game is fun again. Who knew? With Capcom embracing the godawful voice acting of old and referencing things like "Jill sandwiches" alongside letting you play as fan-favourite Barry Burton as you tackle an increasingly complex level design, it's a major step in the right direction for a franchise that's been wayward for far too long.
