Did you ever play Prison Architect? It was a sweet little 2D top-down puzzler that saw you in charge of an entire prison, asking questions as to how much of a persons' humanity to you lose when you're incarcerated, and how much do you end up referring to people who have done wrong by society as nothing more than numbers on a screen. The flip-side to this was the life of the prisoners themselves, and that's where The Escapists comes in, giving you a string of prisons all with the endgame being to bust out - however how you do so is up to you. From different alliances to be made with everyone from inmates to guards and a huge variety of ways to escape that'll get you playing for high-scores as much as the thrill of seeing a plan come together, this more lighthearted take on some otherwise very dark subject matter is a callback to the best things about any prison break movie (or the TV show) you already know and love.
