Onto a shining gem that burst out the gates the second we realised it was Miles Morales in the teaser footage, 2018's Spider-Man is miraculously getting a followup this year.

Whilst sure, it's not "Spider-Man 2", the word from Sony is to think of Miles Morales like Uncharted: Lost Legacy - a sizeable expansion of its former title, with enough content and polish to justify its own outing.

As for Miles himself, Morales has quickly risen to wider pop culture recognition thanks to the immaculate Into The Spider-Verse movie, a reference in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and even his small part in 2018's Spider-Man game was pitch perfect.

Fans and newcomers alike have been yearning for more Miles-fronted Spidey content, and providing this doesn't fall into the trap of repetitious gameplay like Spidey's initial DLC, it should be welcomed with open arms.
