One of the most impressive features promised for the PS4 was the "suspend/resume" mode, which would allow players to essentially pause their game for an extended period of time, potentially up to days, weeks or months at a time. Say you're stuck on a part of a game but don't have a save point coming up, but you need to go out and won't be able to use the PS4 again for half a day? Simply press the PS button, select "suspend game", and the PS4 will enter a low-power state much like standby mode, and when you return to the PS4, it will open up at the exact state of play you were previously in. It's an awesome, convenient feature, one which was rolled out in Beta mode on the Xbox One a few months back, reportedly allowing for 80% success in maintaining a game state. Though I'm rarely so stuck for time that I would need to use this feature, it's great if you're desperate not to lose progress and don't have a facility to save nearby (and don't want to leave your console on overnight).
