9. Grand Theft Auto Was Created Because Of A Glitch

Back when Rockstar North were known as DMA Design, a humble little glitch in a racing game they were developing titled Race'N'Chase was responsible for one of the most popular video game franchises of all time.

Race'N'Chase was supposed to be a slightly chaotic racer, a game in which players travelled around cities as either cops or criminals, chasing or outrunning the opposing side. Response to the game wasn't particularly amazing, but there was one glitch that had testers completely enthralled. Occasionally the police would go insane. It was that simple. Instead of arresting players in a calm and coherent manner, they'd attempt to ram them of the road, producing absolute chaos. Hilarity ensued, and history was made.
