12 More Enjoyably Dumb Things Gamers Do We Can't Explain

4. Spinning The Camera Around As Fast As Possible In An FPS

Okay, I have absolutely no explanation for why this one is so satisfying, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. When first launching into a game (first-person shooters work best), all players have a tendency to hold left or right and spin the camera around as fast possible until you give yourself a headache.

Again, the reason for this is anyone's guess, but it does actually kind of have a practical use. It's an easy way to identify a game's framerate, and the higher it is, the smoother spinning in a circle will be. For console scrubs like me that means something like Call of Duty is incredibly satisfying to spin around in, while Battlefield doesn't quite have the same feel to it.

It's a daft thing to quantify, and it seems even more ridiculous now that I've tried to explain it in words.
