11. Dark Phoenix - Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

In some situations, you can probably argue that Marvel vs Capcom 3's Phoenix is not only a fair and reasonable fight, but actually quite easy. She's not got much in the way of defence, and has a fragile health bar that experienced players can eat through with a couple of smart flurries.

That's exactly what she wants you to do though, as when Phoenix is knocked out with a Level 5 special meter, she comes back transformed as the unstoppable Dark Phoenix.

The character retains the fragility while in this state, but that no longer matters because opponents won't even get the chance to land a hit, thanks to some hard-hitting combos and flashy energy attacks. She's not as much of a pain as some others on this list, but you can bet there's plenty of players out there who dread even thinking about Dark Phoenix's transformation cinematic.
