Whilst Crash himself has felt the loss of Naughty Dog since they sold him off to Activision, now developers Vicarious Visions are back at the helm (responsible for the perfect Game Boy Advance edition, The Huge Adventure). Bringing the Orange Marsupial back into the mainstream, they're doing the one thing every other developer failed to grasp: That Crash's movements were perfected back in the late 90s, and that all we need is a graphical upgrade.

It's true that Crash's character model and overall visual appeal was born out of the rendering limitations of the PS1, but screenshots like the above show that the devs can inject a modern incarnation with that same whacky attitude - the one we grew up loving for so many years.

In a world where nostalgia is bankable, Vicarious Visions didn't have to go this extra mile, but from riding polar bears to blasting enemies with a whopping great Wumpa Fruit bazooka, it's going to be a very warm feeling indeed to re-embrace Crash with open arms.
