12 Notoriously Difficult Video Game Achievements Nobody Unlocked

10. 10 Shadows Rushed Me - Max Payne 3

The first game on the list to feature a finish-the-game-without-dying-and-in-one-sitting trophy, the 10 Shadows Rushed Me achievement in Max Payne 3 is made even more difficult because it requires players to complete the game in the New York Minute mode, which puts a time limit on the campaign.

The thing is, although the shooter promotes keeping constantly on the move and using bullet time to manoeuvre around the battlefield, being out in the open for too long is a sure-fire way to get instantly gunned down.

While it's fine to take breathers during the regular campaign, in New York Minute you're always under the threat of running out of time, which means that riskier play saves worrying about the clock, but also puts you in the line of fire more than you otherwise would have been.

Not only that, but you already have to have played through Max Payne 3 a couple of times to even unlock the mode. While that means you should be an expert on its levels, the repetition doesn't make the playthrough any more enjoyable.
