12 Stunning Video Game Locations You Must Visit Before You Die

4. The Citadel - Mass Effect 3

The obligatory Super City of the Future on this list, the Citadel is the great galactic metropolis of video games. It's the centre-point of the Mass Effect galaxy, situated in the middle of several mass relays that jet ships off to different parts of the galaxy. Because of its location, The Citadel is pretty much the Brussels of the future. A political centre-point where all the races of the universe can get together and discuss pertinent matters like food import tax, spaceship speed limits, and the impending destruction of the galaxy. It's easily the greatest space-based city hub in games, filled with intrigue, a melting pot of colourful intergalactic characters and some fantastic visual flourishes. Presidium is the city's most impressive area; a giant half-cylinder opened out onto the sky, with a lake in the middle and plenty of vegetation within its cool metallic chassis.
