12 Things We Learned From Nintendo's Super Smash Bros Reveal
4. There Are Lots Of New Items To Play With
Items are an integral part of the Smash Bros. experience. There's nothing quite like euphoric joy of finding a hammer and cackling like a maniac as you send your friends flying off the stage to their doom. Sakura gave the world a glimpse of the shiny new items we'll be able to get our greasy mitts on later this year. The Fire Bar (pictured above) is a welcome addition, making a change from the tried and true Fire Flower. Weapons from some of Nintendo's recent games have cropped up, too. Link's trusty Beetle from The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword has the ability to grab characters and fly them up into the air, which could lead to some pretty cheap deaths if used correctly. Pit's Ore Club from his recent 3DS Adventure Kid Icarus: Uprising is also included. It's a pretty beefy weapon that looks like it could do serious damage up close. It can also fire mini tornadoes, so it'll be good from a distance as well. There's also a Rocket Belt that can give you extra mobility in the air, a miniature submarine from Steel Diver that fires missiles and Power Blocks from the Mario series that simply send players flying. On top of these new additions there are the classic weapons such as the Smart Bomb and Beam Sword, which pretty much guarantees that there will be a wide variety of ways to beat up your fellow man in the final game.
