12 Times Movies Got Video Games Wrong

10. Mortal Kombat: Deception...On N64? - The 40-Year-Old Virgin

Judd Apatow's The 40-Year-Old Virgin is a classic rom-com, albeit one that's dated itself for a number of reasons - least not how damn young Seth Rogen looks in it.

But during the famous "You know how I know that you're gay?" scene between Rogen and Paul Rudd's characters, you'll notice that the pair are holding N64 controllers...despite the fact they're playing Mortal Kombat: Deception, which was only released on PS2, Xbox and GameCube.

It's an especially odd choice as the N64 was long defunct by the time the movie started shooting, and to make matters worse, it's blatantly obvious neither controller is actually plugged into anything, while both Rogen and Rudd's button mashing techniques aren't remotely convincing.

Given that Rogen is himself a noted gamer, it's pretty bizarre that such an easily remedied series of flaws made it into the final movie.

One can only assume that the Mortal Kombat footage was super-imposed in post-production, so Rogen and Rudd had no frame of reference for it on-set.
