12 Times Movies Got Video Games Wrong

7. "He Hasn't Even Taken A Hit Yet" - The Wizard

The Wizard Ninja Gaiden

If you've never seen the 1989 cult classic The Wizard, you absolutely owe it to yourself to.

More a feature-length commercial for Nintendo's doomed Power Glove peripheral than a movie born from any sort of creative spark, The Wizard is best remembered for introducing western audiences to the first footage of Super Mario Bros. 3, and the hilarious scene where a character calls the Power Glove "so bad". The 80s were a weird time, OK?

Despite its extensive product placements for Nintendo products, the game is surprisingly rife with basic factual and continuity errors regarding the games on show. In one memorable scene, protagonist Jimmy (Luke Edwards) is playing Ninja Gaiden, and another character remarks that he "hasn't even taken a hit yet."

This is despite the audience getting a lingering glimpse of Jimmy playing the game, and the top-right corner of the screen makes it clear he's already lost two segments of health.

Given that none of the cast members appear in the shot with the game footage, this would've been an incredibly easy mistake to fix. For shame.
