7. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Sells Itself On Its Final Fantasy XV Demo
The Game: Final Fantasy Type-0 was originally released for the PSP back in 2011, but never saw the light of day outside of Japan. It's finally getting an HD re-release for PS4 and Xbox One next month, however, and early copies of the game will come with a demo for Final Fantasy XV. Why It's A Ripoff: The whole "limited demo" claim is clearly just a scam to make sure people rush out to buy the game as soon as possible, but what's really rankling people is that the game is launching for a ridiculously expensive $60/£45. That's right: Square Enix is charging the same price for an upscaled version of a handheld game as most developers do for a regular AAA release, and the only way they can even begin to justify it is because people are desperate to get to grips with FFXV. Will People Buy It Anyway?: Again, FF fans are suckers for this kind of thing, and there's little doubt that the game will sell immensely well, considerably more than it would without the attached demo. Even if you're eager, try to resist the pull, or at least sell the game when you've finished with the demo (especially if you're not really interested in Type-0 itself).
