12 Upcoming Video Games That Will Probably Be Delayed

Be prepared for bad news.

Though contemporary gaming is chock full of disappointing trends like day-1 DLC, greedy micro-transactions, titles that fall far short of their out-of-control hype and so on, perhaps the most frustrating one of all is the tendency for games to be delayed. 2014 has seen more high-profile games delayed than in any other year, including Batman: Arkham Knight, Battlefield Hardline, Dying Light, Mad Max, Quantum Break, as well as many of the games that are also appearing on this list. As video game developers have a tendency to announce release dates far in advance long before a clear picture of how a game is shaping up can be ascertained, it perhaps isn't too surprising that so many games are being delayed these days. It's certainly preferable for studios to just wait until they're absolutely sure about a game's development before announcing its street date, though given how the gaming PR industry works, this just isn't very likely. For the remainder of the year and beyond, these 12 games, many of which have already been delayed, are likely to be struck by the delay curse. Why would this be? Either what's been shown off so far looks a little tawdry, the developer is notorious for delaying their games, or the lack of specificity regarding a release date beyond a vague "Q2 2015" suggests the game could easily slip back a few months.
