12 Video Game Bosses NOBODY Was Ready For
3. Yiazmat - Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Final Fantasy always has an optional boss which is designed to test veterans of the series. FFVII had Emerald Weapon. FFVIII had Omega Weapon. FFXIV had Ultimate Ultima Weapon. (Basically, stay away from anyone with "Weapon" in their name.)
However, these guys are pansies compared to FFXII's heaviest hitter, Yiazmat. No matter how overpowered the player's team is, this behemoth takes an eternity to beat, thanks to his 50 million HP. By comparison, the final boss has less than 0.5% that amount!
In a way, Yiazmat actually has more than 50 million HP, since the infernal ogre doesn't stop healing! If Vaan and his allies don't vanquish Yiazmat within a certain timeframe, the self-proclaimed Deity Among Dragons regenerates a sizeable portion of health, making the whole fight up until that point inert.
Because of this, Vaan's posse needs to hit Yiazmat with everything they've got, while dodging his ludicrous attacks (including Massacre, which can KO any party member instantly).
Even if you're a completionist who feels compelled to beat every enemy in the game, no one will blame you if you give Yiazmat a pass.
Trust me. He's that hard.
