Of the many, many, many issues Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League suffered from, the one that really irked the fanbase was the mishandling of Batman.

Obviously, the character's depiction is tragic, since it's the last time the Gotham superhero will be voiced in a video game by the late and great Kevin Conroy. But even if the legendary voice actor was among us, the showdown with the dark knight would still be an insult to gamers and comic fans.

Rather than tackling him in straight combat, Bats infects the squad with fear toxin after they break into the Bat Cave. After that, the super-criminals must scurry around the cave to neutralise the toxin while visions of Batman jump out, which becomes repetitive very quickly.

At the end, the titular characters must face off against a colossal Demon Bat. Even though this depiction of Batman is meant to invoke the caped crusader's ability to weaponise fear, this boss battle doesn't seem right. Batman should fight with smoke bombs, batarangs, and his fists, not... whatever this is. For this reason, the Demon Bat comes across as a generic monster, not DC's most beloved superhero.

The brawl itself is embarrassingly short and generic, adding salt to the wounds. To cap it all off, Batman meets his end, not in the midst of battle, but by having his brains blown out while sitting on a bench.

Considering how many avenues this boss fight could've taken, it's bewildering that Rocksteady thought this was the best one.
