12 Video Game Bosses That Were A Total Letdown

11. Alec Trevelyan - GoldenEye 007

For all the praise GoldenEye 007 receives, it's easy to forget how lacklustre the ending is. After James Bond arrives on the cradle station, he must give chase to his mortal enemy and former friend, Alec Trevelyan.

Rather than facing the master terrorist in direct combat, the martini-swilling secret agent must dash around the satellite over and over, blasting at Trevelyan while avoiding his henchmen, which becomes tiresome very quickly. After sustaining enough damage, Trevelyan challenges 007 in the bowls of the station.

Anyone expecting an enthralling battle akin to the film's climax is in for a rude awakening. To defeat Trevelyan once and for all, James Bond has to (now, get ready for this) shoot him. Unless Bond does absolutely nothing or falls off the antenna, it's borderline impossible to lose this scrap.

Even though the shootouts against other bosses like Xenia Onatopp, Jaws, and Baron Samedi are fairly difficult, the challenge here is practically non-existent.

It pains me to say it, but the heavily reviled GoldenEye Reloaded remake had a better finale, since Bond is actually given something to do while facing his rival.
