12 Video Game Series That Are Crying Out For A Remake, Remaster Or New Entry
10. Splinter Cell
With Sam Fisher now appearing in seemingly every Ubisoft property but his own, we’d love a new Splinter Cell title. We’re also incredibly impatient, and so in the meantime are holding out hope for a remaster of the original trilogy.
While the first two games are excellent in their own right, Chaos Theory is inarguably the most fondly-remembered entry – and we’d love to see it with modern lighting effects.
Stealth games feel like somewhat of a dying breed, and giving us three classic examples of the genre at its best would certainly gauge interest for a new title.
While all three are playable through Xbox One's backwards compatibility, imagine Chaos Theory's opening Lighthouse mission with ray-tracing enabled. Imagine just how cool it'd be to pull off Sam Fisher's iconic "split jump" while waiting for an enemy to pass as the rain beats down.
For a game built on the use of light and shadow, seeing our favourite Third Echelon agent do his thing in 4K would be a real treat – even if it is retreading old ground.
