12 Video Games Marketed Entirely On Boobs

8. Catherine

The Boobs: Catherine is a game centered around a commitment-phobic young man who embarks on an affair with the titular girl, a sexually intimidating woman who only enhances the terror of his waking life. The game's cover art makes its intentions clear: it features an image of Catherine removing her dress while a miniature version of protagonist Vincent Brooks can be seen falling between her cleavage. The game itself also features Catherine in a wide plethora of revealing outfits and, sometimes, nothing at all (though artfully obscured, of course). But Was The Game Any Good?: Of all the games on this list, this is probably the one that really does a solid job of incorporating its provocative content into the game. After all, Catherine is a puzzle-platformer about a man's relationship woes: the sexual content is relatively appropriate to the character-driven story, and made for one of the more narratively ambitious games of the last decade. Whether the game is itself misogynist or just a reflection of misogyny is up for debate, but emphasising Catherine's sexuality seems appropriate considering some of the bizarre revelations later on in the game. It might not seem it at first, but this is an exceedingly self-aware title that knows exactly what it's doing.
