There is no game around that demonstrates everything unique about video games better than The Walking Dead. Telltale's episodic point-and-click adventure series has enjoyed massive success thanks to its incredible writing, accessibility, and a moral choice-system that'll emotionally drain you throughout playing (but in a good way). Unlike in Mass Effect, in The Walking Dead gives you a set time to decide what you're going to say or do. When the choice presented to you is particularly dramatic, you'll have just a few seconds to make your decision. This means that you can act rashly in the moment and regret your actions later, especially when they have unforeseen consequences that you possibly couldn't have predicted. It gives weight to your actions, making them feel more flawed and, most importantly - more human. It may be one of the most emotionally engaging games, but it's also one of the easiest to control; with most actions being mapped to a single button. There are a variety of ways to enjoy The Walking Dead with a partner: you can play through it together by taking turns, or if you don't fancy that then one of you can take a back seat and watch as this fantastic story unfolds, giving thoughts on what you should do whenever you need advice. The Walking Dead takes everything that's great about both games, film and TV and mixes it all together to create something that's truly brilliant, making it in our eyes the best choice for getting any partner into gaming.
