12 Video Games To Get Your Partner Into Gaming

11. Rayman Legends

2D games are inherently easier to play than 3D ones because you don't have to worry about moving the camera, nor do you need to memorise what every button on the controller does. In platformers in particular you just have to jump, attack and run - and that's about it. Simple. Rayman Legends is one of the most effortlessly inventive platformers to release in quite some time. It feels great to play on your own or with a friend or partner. You'll need the patience of a saint to make it through the harder levels with other people in tow, though. You've been warned! If jumping isn't your partner's thing, then this game has something else for them to try: There are several levels in Rayman Legends that focus on one player manipulating the game world (rotating platforms, cutting ropes etc) while the other runs about as usual. It has the potential to be fun for both parties, as relying on your partner to protect you from dying is a cool little exercise in trust that'll either make you stronger as a couple or leave you with deep-seated issues that will inevitably lead to your breakup. In all seriousness though Rayman Legends is a fantastic choice for couples that are just looking to have a laugh together. It's a fantastically well-designed with gorgeous visuals and simple controls that make it a joy to play.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
