Castle Crashers is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that oozes charm and character. Like most 2D games it has the benefit of being very easy to pick up and play, but its levelling system gives it a nuance of depth. It's well-suited for playing in short bursts too, making it ideal for those that just don't have hours of free time to dedicate to games. It's a fairly short experience depending on how much the addiction takes hold, but Castle Crashers will always lure you back with the promise of unlocking new characters to play with on new run-throughs. Light-hearted and never taking itself too seriously, almost anyone with two hands and a sense humour will be able to get stuck in to have fun with this one.
