In 2009, the 25th anniversary of the heroes in a half shell was upon us. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up, a Wii and PS2 designed by a team of former Smash Bros. and Team Ninja developers, with a plot written by co-creator Peter Laird, looked like it could've been the ultimate anniversary project.

But then the Rabbids showed up.

For a Smash Bros clone, Smash Up wasn't the greatest, and had a disappointingly limited roster of only 16 characters.

Ubisoft seemed to only make it worse, deeming it fit to celebrate the history of Turtle Power by cross-advertising their little screaming rabbit turds instead of, just maybe, filling the roster with anyone from TMNT history beyond 2003.
