12 Worst Superhero Video Games Of All Time

3. The Uncanny X-Men (NES)

Created by an unknown developer - probably after they realised what they'd done and didn't want their name on the box - Uncanny X-Men is not only one of the worst superhero games of all time, but also one of the very worst games in the NES's library.

On paper, it sounds like it could be alright. You can play as six different X-Men - Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Iceman - and that's a tantalising prospect for any X-Men fan. They all try to navigate through a 2D realm from a top-down perspective.

Unfortunately the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Despite there being a mixed cast of characters, the game is clearly made for characters who can shoot, and playing as one who can't is nigh on impossible due to poor collision when trying to punch things.

Then there's the AI - this game forces you to either play with a friend or be saddled with a terrible, computer-controlled character. They'll routinely get in the way, get stuck on objects and even commit suicide by falling to their death regularly down pits.

Even for a NES game this one looks awful too, with an uninspired colour palette, bland level design, and simple re-skins of the same model for every character.
