13 Biggest Things We Learned From E3 2018's Press Conferences
1. The Next-Generation Is Right Around The Corner
For the past two E3 showcases, we've wondered what on earth Death Stranding is. From Norman Reedus having a baby lodged down his throat to Mads Mikkelson following a dolls head through a sewer, nothing in Hideo Kojima's newest creation appears to make much sense. That's why, when we were told we'd get gameplay this year, we finally expected we'd understand what made this sci-fi horror tick. As is to be expected from the legendary game designer, we were completely incorrect.
It's a hugely exciting time to be a gamer, and with developers like Howard claiming that next-generation experiences are going to be like nothing we've ever seen before, the future is looking bright as we enter into the next age of hardware. Whilst it's still murky which games will hit the current slate of consoles and which will move forward to the potential PS5 and rumoured Xbox Scarlett, the line-up of assumedly next-generation games at E3 2018 was undeniably strong.
Whether it be Elder Scrolls IV, Beyond Good And Evil 2, Halo: Infinite or any of the other games that looked to be further along than the current-gen can handle, there seems to be something for everyone in the plethora of upcoming titles. With Xbox gearing up for a comeback, Sony ready to amaze with their secretive projects and the numerous major third-parties looking to embrace the future of the industry, the next-generation is looking like an absolute doozy.
