11. PUBG Gets Cross-Play
Widespread titles like Minecraft and Fortnite are available to play across everything, from your console of choice to PC to mobile...to likely your dishwasher at some future point. Other major releases, though, are much slower at breaking down system-based limits.
Yet, here we are, soon able to play PUBG matches across both the PS4 and Xbox servers. In a broad context, this is even more surprising considering the title was one of Xbox One's bigger console exclusives when it released two years back.
Certainly, PUBG and the Battle Royale trend are growing tired, but the fact that this barrier has been broken down relatively quickly means we can expect a new standard for cross-play activation within the multiplayer scene going forward.
