2. Skies Of Arcadia
Ive never understood why this 100+ hour snooze-fest enjoys such a rabid fanbase. Such is the popularity of this Dreamcast stinker it even got a GameCube port in 2002. I could harp on about my dreary voyage through the skies of Arcadia from a gameplay perspective, but this list is supposed to be focusing on crappy narratives. So, how does this game fare in the story stakes? What youve got here is a painfully obvious pacifist/environmentalist yarn told through a pretty bland resistance story from the perspective of air pirate Vyse, a protagonist so maddeningly upbeat that he wouldve been made to walk the plank on my ship long ago. Theres some rubbish about biological WMDs and Moon Crystals, all communicated through some of the worst dialogue Ive ever been forced to endure, which seems largely to consist of inter-gender bickering roughly on par with an episode of The Big Bang Theory.
