13 Criminally Underrated Marvel Superhero Video Games You Must Play
9. The Punisher
Say what you want about the latest season of Daredevil finally getting The Punisher right, but video games have been doing the character justice for years. Not least the 2004 movie tie-in, which managed not only to be a great licensed game outright, but a licensed game that was somehow better than the film it was inspired by and based on.
While you might think that the previous movies in The Punisher franchise or the Daredevil TV show were brutal in showing Frank Castle's murderous rampage, they've got not thing on this third-person shooter. Although the action was just as violent as any other in the genre, the movie tie-in wasn't afraid to go that one step further, especially in the visceral interrogations of characters that had you squeezing their heads in vices or threatening them with an electric drill to the eye.
While it takes more than a few cues from Remedy's Max Payne, The Punisher is all the better for it, and stands strong as one of the most interesting superhero games to ever hit consoles.
