13 Flat Out Lies We Were Told Just To Sell A Video Game
11. Call Of Duty: Ghosts Is The Franchise's Shift To Next-Gen Gaming
The Lie: Call of Duty: Ghosts, the first game in the mammoth FPS series to be released on the Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One, heralded the next-gen homecoming of the franchise, and would truly take the series to the next level of visuals and possibilities. The Truth: Anyone who has played Ghosts on a next-gen (now current-gen) console will attest that it absolutely doesn't play like a new-generation game. The graphics look only marginally better than the previous-generation versions, and to the naked eye, there's not much evidence that it's being played on a PS4 or Xbox One over a PS3 or Xbox 360. The textures are still muddy and low-res, the engine is wildly outdated, and simply, it made for a rather underwhelming debut for the series on next-gen tech (especially considering the price hike for next-gen games) It seems like the real next-gen debut for the franchise will be the upcoming Advanced Warfare, which boasts significantly better graphics and should do justice to the idea of next-gen Call of Duty (hopefully, anyway).
