13 Insane E3 2017 Announcements That Would Shock The World

4. Project Scorpio's "Mixed Reality" Wipes The Floor With PSVR

The Announcement: Project Scorpio will get its grand unveiling at E3, extensively showing off its game-based compatibility with mixed reality headsets, promptly embarrassing the PSVR in the process.

How Likely Is It?: This is a tough one, especially as Microsoft have already announced they they plan to integrate mixed reality into the Scorpio in 2018, and may consider E3 too early to make that announcement.

Plus, the Scorpio itself will be a show-stealer regardless of what hardware's bundled with it, and even if mixed reality does show up, the technology is fundamentally quite different to PSVR, so may well be catering to a different audience.

The Scorpio's beefy system specs will give it an undeniable edge, though, so it could very well present a wow factor that PSVR hasn't so far, especially as it's much easier to convey mixed reality on a conference stage compared to traditional VR tech. 4/10
