13 Last Minute Video Game Rumours For E3 2016
Whoever needs to come together to make Crash happen, get it done.
It's almost that time of year again: E3 is just around the corner, and there's no more exciting time to be a gamer. It's practically impossible not to get swept up in the fever of the rumour mill heading into the show, as claims from the hilariously outlandish to the totally believable spill out online.
Whether you choose to believe them or not is of course up to you, but it's fun to speculate on what shocks and surprises the conference might serve up, especially after last year's show delivered the jaw-dropping trifecta of The Last Guardian, Shenmue 3 and the Final Fantasy VII remake.
Though this year's show will seemingly struggle to wring that much fanboy glee out of gamers, if even just a few of these rumours come true, then maybe not.
Here are 13 last-minute rumours for E3 2016...
13. Capcom Will Reveal A "Back To Basics" Resident Evil 7
By far one of the most substantive and plausible E3 rumours is that Capcom will reveal Resident Evil 7, which after the mixed reception to 2012's sixth game, will reportedly employ a "back to basics" approach, moving away from the overt action of recent titles and returning the series to its survival horror roots.
How Likely Is It?: While this rumour has consistently shown up for the last three E3s and ultimately turned up nothing, the franchise is certainly due another entry within the next 12 months going by the usual release pattern, so it would actually be a major shock if E3 came and went without a single peep about the long-awaited sequel.
It's almost certainly happening, but then again, what Capcom call "back to basics" could differ substantially from what fans are hoping for. 9/10
