13. Final Fantasy VII
Remember the first time you named a character in an RPG and the characters addressed you specifically from then-on out? It might seem like a strange thing to focus on now, but back when Final Fantasy VII landed in a future-defining explosion of brilliant locales and instantly-iconic characters, it was the first time for many that theyd actually gone on a hundred-plus adventure with a suitably barmy bunch of teammates. I say first time for many, because the Final Fantasy series had been allowing people to get lost in a world of vowel-comprising terms and cities for years, however VII was the one those templates and presented them in a way that attracted a legendary following, the ramifications of which are still being talked about now being that VII once again topped the sales charts in this weekends Autumn Steam sale.
