11. The Walking Dead
Although the show might be waxing and waning as time goes on (Honestly, who wanted to know more about The Governors struggle to find himself?), it was over to adventure-masters Telltale Games to take inspiration from the comic-originals and hand-craft an original tale where you took centre-stage. Playing as Lee Everett, you make many decisions every few minutes that affect all those around you in increasingly dire ways. Surviving in a zombie apocalypse is not the MP3-players-and-clean-faces the TV show makes it out to be, and Telltales game touches upon everything from how desperate individuals have become to survive, to character-backstories you can shape depending on how you tell them, to genuinely harrowing actions youre forced to take part in for the greater good of the group. Its a game that wraps up in one of the grimmest and most bleak ways possible, yet fits the franchise like a particularly moth-eaten glove, leading perfectly into the sequel-branching DLC 400 Days, and the full-on Season 2 next year.
