Remember back in the day how we were all shocked into paralysis when we realized that Nemesis could burst through a door/window/wall (the guy knows how to make an entrance) at any second in Resident Evil 3? Alien: Isolation takes that phobia, multiplies it by a hundred and slaps an acid-dipped tongue on it. Placing you in control of Amanda Ripley - daughter of the movie's iconic heroine - Isolation has you stealthing down pitch-black corridors with motion tracker in hand, praying to your deity of choice (mine's George Carlin) that the little blip on the screen isn't a predatory extraterrestrial creeping closer. And make no mistake, the Xenomorph of Alien: Isolation is worlds apart from the nerfed embarrassment of Colonial Marines - this beast is brutal, deadly and blindingly fast.
