The Buzz: Motiga's free-to-play MOBA game attempts to distinguish itself in a crowded market by focusing on players having to protect their team's Guardian, a giant, magical being, while also attempting to kill the one on the opposing team.

The closed beta from earlier this year was warmly received on the whole, though there's one major hurdle standing in the game's way: developer Motiga is currently suffering through major financial troubles and laid off a large portion of its staff this past February, such that there's no solid window on when the game might actually hit storefronts.

It's especially infuriating as the game received glowing reviews from beta previews, and while it may not end up as a phenomenon of the genre, it's clearly carved out a solid place for itself in the massively overcrowded MOBA market.
