13 Video Games That Are Even More Frustrating Than Flappy Bird
9. Mirror's Edge
EA and DICE's attempt at allow gamers to experience parkour and free-running first hand in Mirror's Edge, was a decent game with a somewhat good storyline and a fantastic, near-otherworldly setting. While there were plenty of valid points on why the game sucked (a plethora of character and plot-related problems, crappy cutscenes, no free roam, etc.), the frustrating segments came down to two things: terrible combat and rough controls. When it comes to combat, EA and DICE have it down with Battlefield; however, trying to translate that to Mirror's Edge was a poor choice, as handling guns was a chore that was ultimately not helpful during the forced combat sections (of which there are many), and the overall variety of three different attacks were very inefficient and cumbersome, especially towards the end of the game. Usually momentum was lost after the combat sections, forcing players to waste time trying to regain speed. As for the controls, free-running requires fluidity, something that Mirror's Edge wasn't very good at. While passable at times, in the overall grand scheme of things the rough controls made many jumps fail, usually ending with the heroine Faith splattering all over the ground.
