1. Animal Crossing

No game on this list is more addictive than Animal Crossing. The game tends to start out slow but once you get going there's no really no way to stop. Throughout its various incarnations there are dozens of various villagers that can occupy your town and a myriad of collectible items. The last game on our list puts the most emphasis on player-driven choices and makes the most out of all of the holidays, Halloween included. As summer transcends into autumn outside your window so too will your town embrace the colder season. Your wonderland of green will slowly become orange, red, and yellow and everyone's taking notice. Animal Crossing is well known for it's calendar based events and as soon as October rolls around you can begin stocking up on candy from Tom Nook's shop. If you're feeling crafty head over to the tailor shop and create your own Halloween designs to badge upon your shirts and umbrellas. The greatest of all Halloween-themed events happens on none other than the big night itself. Jack, a costumed - or is he? - character will wander your town looking for some of that delicious candy. Unfortunately, the other villagers will dress up exactly like him and if you're found without candy they'll curse you! Finding the real Jack and giving him candy will yield you a piece of spooky furniture. Animal Crossing has plenty of replay value and you'll have to play year after year to obtain the full set. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, not all of the villagers will go out and those who don't can be trick-or-treated upon. If you forgot to stock up on candy - or lost what you had to the Jack impersonators - then trick-or-treating is a wonderful option for restocking. Just be certain you have dressed in costume! Like the real world, Halloween comes and goes in Animal Crossing and this is part of what makes it so fun. If you're too old to trick-or-treat, just pull out your copy of the game and indulge in some Halloween goodness. Are there any other video games outside of the horror genre that you enjoy playing to get your Halloween spirits wailing? Let us know in the comments section and if you haven't played the games on the list go buy some candy corn and get to it!
