12. Nintendo NX Misses Out E3

Though Nintendo made it clear well ahead of time that the Nintendo NX wouldn't appear at June's E3 conference, it still seems like a stunningly missed opportunity not to unveil the new platform on the biggest gaming stage of all.

Instead, the NX will likely drop either at a "lesser" gaming convention over the next few months or could even simply land during a Nintendo Direct video. Given how the latter tends to be fairly dull in its presentation, it's not exactly the most exciting way to unveil a new console that Nintendo claim is extremely unique.

Considering that Sony and Microsoft only had new versions of current consoles to show off, E3 could've been the perfect stage to blow everyone away and make it clear that Nintendo means business once again. But alas, no.
