11. Street Fighter V Is Released Unfinished

Street Fighter V was released back in February, but was basically an embarrassingly bare bones "Early Access" version of the final game, missing the Challenge Mode, Shop and Arcade Mode options, as well as a fully fleshed-out Story Mode.

Even ignoring the game's heavy lean towards micro-transactions, at a most base level this felt like a title that should've cost about half the price of a full retail game, and had been blatantly rushed out the door in time for the competitive crowd.

What should've been marketed as a "Competition Edition" at a lower price was instead trotted out as the definite article, yet critics themselves didn't help by generating an absurdly generous score of 77 on Metacritic.

Capcom at least had the humility to admit that the launch was a failure and they should've better communicated what the day one game was, and as punishment for their greed, Street Fighter V ended up selling 600,000 copies less than they hoped for by the end of 2016's fiscal year.
