And finally, we come to Skies of Arcadia, perhaps the most-revered Dreamcast RPG save for the Shenmue series, a nuanced yet easy-to-play entry into the genre that was in many ways the polar opposite to the trend of hyper-complex RPGs at the time.

It was widely praised across the board, but suffered by initially only being released on Sega's doomed console in 2000, before getting a belated GameCube port in 2003.

Since then, a Skies of Arcadia sequel has been routinely demanded by fans, because no RPG this great deserves to simply be a one-and-done.

Why It Will Never Happen: Though a sequel and various HD remasters of the original game have been discussed before, none have actually come to fruition, and with the original game hardly selling well, it's difficult to imagine Sega mustering up the time, energy and money to give fans another go-around.
