14 Awesome-Sounding Video Game Sequels That Will Never Happen
7. Portal 3
The Portal franchise's reputation among fans and critics alike is second-to-none: the ingenious platformers have spawned countless imitators, but there's nothing quite able to match the surreal tone and hilarious personality of the original two.
With the original game releasing in 2007, Portal 2 landing in 2011 and the series having sold over 8 million copies by 2012, a third game is certainly long overdue by now.
If it could maintain the same brilliant trickiness and smart, minimalist storytelling of the first two games, then it'd surely be another classic outing from Valve.
Why It Will Never Happen: As we've already gone over, Valve is allergic to the number three and is basically out of the AAA games development business now, so there's little financial incentive for them to actually make this game with the money they're printing from mere distribution.
