14 Awesome-Sounding Video Game Sequels That Will Never Happen

8. Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake
Remedy

Alan Wake is a searing psychological thriller from Max Payne writer Sam Lake, and is without question one of the most atmospheric video games of the last decade.

A spin-off DLC, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, was released in 2012, and though Remedy Entertainment initially claimed that a full Alan Wake sequel was on the way, they eventually went on to make the divisive Quantum Break instead.

The universe Lake created is simply too good to be used on just one full game, so where the Hell's the sequel?

Why It Will Never Happen: Alan Wake as a property has sold just a few million copies, which caused Microsoft to refuse to bankroll a straight-up sequel, and with the game recently removed from Xbox Live and Steam due to expired music licenses, it seems that the franchise is destined to evaporate into the ether. What a damn shame.
