14 Beloved Video Games That Criminally Never Got Sequels
14. Jade Empire
Back before Bioware would break our hearts with the end of Mass Effect 3 - and the subsequent selling-back of the content needed for it to make sense - they were planting seeds in a whole variety of different places, with the Eastern mythology-heavy Jade Empire being one of the most well-received. Part of the new wave of Western-developed RPGs, combat broke away from the turn-based trappings of the genre and more into live-action, which coupled with your character's deft hand-to-hand and weapon skills, made for encounters that were an absolute joy every time. Coming as the studio's first title after immersing themselves in Star Wars lore for Knights of the Old Republic it looked absolutely gorgeous too - you could tell the art department were having a blast rendering out something completely different that anything they'd done before. With the exemplary combat system, plenty dialogue-heavy choices and a gorgeous world that was always a total pleasure to explore, many fans cite this as Bioware's best title even over the Herculean Mass Effect 2 - it's completely baffling as to why this has never seen a followup.
