14 Brutally Hard PS4 & Xbox One Games You Can't Handle
11. Dark Souls III
In the words of Liam Neeson, once you've played a Dark Souls game you'll acquire "a particular set of skills" that sets you up for all of FromSoftware's titles.
However, if you're yet to experience their perfected mechanical splendour, games like Demon's/Dark Souls and Bloodborne will have your expectations for breakfast. Dark Souls 3 is no different in this regard, as a first boss that mutates into a screen-filled mass of area-effect attacks and devastating slams is quickly followed up by a more unassuming 'samurai' character that might as well be a boss himself.
The opening gauntlet of this fourth Souls title is no less unforgiving than the previous two, but thanks to a perfect mix of refined controls and signature difficulty spikes, remains is the perfect entry point for fans and newcomers alike.
