If You Already Like: Asteroids, Galaga, Rogue Legacy.

From one hard game with charm, to another positively dripping in immediate appeal - just be careful it doesn't crush your expectations along the way. Developed by 17-Bit studios, Galak-Z looks like Thunderbirds 2086 (now there's a deep cut) mixed with Asteroids - the result being a roguelike where you'll get routinely trounced by the opposition, only to lick your wounds, upgrade your ship and try again.

The galaxy itself is fairly open, although you do have missions to complete, but in exploring further you'll gain access to better weapons for that inevitable next try.

Volleys of rockets, a gorgeous graphics engine and a Transformers-style mech form for close-quarters combat, Galak-Z has a ton to offer - just be prepared to get turned to paste in the process.
