12. Metroid NX Will Be A Launch Title
The Announcement: After series producer Kensuke Tanabe stated last year that no core Metroid title would appear on the Wii U, fans have been hoping that the imminent announcement of the Nintendo NX will come with a reveal of Metroid NX as a launch title for the platform.
How Likely Is It?: Firstly, Nintendo have already claimed that the NX itself won't be shown off at E3 beyond gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda, so seeing any other games would be a massive surprise.
That said, we can't discount it entirely, given how the last console-based Metroid game was 2010's Other M, and Tanabe's insistence could be indicative of the NX Metroid title already being deep in development for release early next year (in line with the rumoured March 2017 bow for the NX). It's not terribly likely, but we won't totally write it off either.
