14 Most Anticipated Video Game Sequels Of 2017 - Ranked
8. Star Wars Battlefront II
One of those sequels that shows a developer scrambling to right all the wrongs of the original, Battlefront II is already leagues ahead of its 2015 incarnation.
Now we've got a full story mode, the ditching of the card-based progression system, no microtransactions, a wider pool of characters, more eras of Star Wars - it just goes on and on.
Obviously I'm being disparaging of the first instalment, as there were still many things to like. The sheer scope and visual presentation was unlike any other Star Wars game we'd ever seen, and features like the Walker Assault mode (particularly on Hoth) felt like some of the most authentic and innovative ways to portray Star Wars set-pieces in video games, period.
If DICE continue on this trajectory, SWB II has a chance of eclipsing 2005's mighty original. Now wouldn't that be something?
