PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is nothing short of a phenomenon right now, having just racked up 5 million players despite still being in early access.

It's easy to see why, too: streamers have done a great job promoting PUBG as the Battle Royale game to rule them all, and when the game works, it is a ton of fun.

However, even for the fairly low standards of an early access title, this is a horribly-optimised game that even players with relatively decent set-ups may struggle to run satisfactorily.

There are hundreds of Steam threads where players with beefy rigs can't get the game running above 20 FPS, and frequent stuttering proves infuriating during a game that so often requires fast reactions.

Fingers crossed that PlayerUnknown works on fixing the clear engine issues, because there's definitely a great game in here somewhere.
