10. Carmageddon: Max Damage

Whether you were around at the time Fox News was kicking up a fuss about all things video games (not that it's changed a whole lot), or have just absorbed Carmageddon's influence through cultural osmosis, sufficed to say, it's one of the most controversial (and fun) titles of all time.

For Max Damage, it's set to be the console version of Reincarnation, which was Kickstarted into being when developers Stainless Games teamed with their fans to give everybody what they'd been asking about for years. At release it mostly catered to the 90s-loving crowd, but after being continually worked on, the thrills easily come through gloriously gory race events and carnage-filled combo multipliers.

There's a severe lack of vehicle-based deathmatch-type games out there (Hardware: Rivals just didn't cut it for me), so here's to one of gaming's most prolific bad boys rejoining DOOM and continuing the 90s renaissance.
